The power of the elements
In Iceland, water is constantly changing its state. It falls in cascades, gushes out under pressure, freezes on the plateaus and then becomes steam again above the basins. The landscape seems to be in motion even when it is silent.
On the borders of daylight
The low-angled light stretches the shadows and colors the snow in blue, orange or pink. The chosen images retain this instability: a calm moment can, a few meters further, become an almost unreal scene.
This notebook combines major natural sites and more intimate fragments, such as the colorful houses of Reykjavík, to show an inhabited territory without diminishing its power.
