Nepal — From Kathmandu to the ridges of Poon Hill

From the temples of Kathmandu to the forests of Chitwan and the first light over the Himalayas.

The city, the jungle, and the mountain

The journey begins in the courtyards and squares of Kathmandu, amidst temples, carved facades, and prayer flags. Further south, the mist of Chitwan slows the gaze: rhinoceroses, elephants, and dense vegetation appear in fragments.

The Himalayas at dawn

At Poon Hill, the reliefs gradually emerge from the shadows. The ridges, flags, and cold light tell less of an arrival than a succession of stages, between inhabited valleys and the high mountain horizon.

This selection brings together ten images to follow this transition from the city to the jungle, and then from the jungle to the grand Himalayan panoramas.
